Students, Today in drama club, we discussed that we have only 18 club days left in DC and writing and putting on a production in that amount of time is unrealistic. Unfortunatley, because of time constraints, we must abadon Romeo and Juliet for the time being. I apologize for this inconvenience and for any disappointment. HOWEVER, we will be having a Showcase in December!!! All students will participate in either a scene, monologue or musical theatre piece. This will be discussed in more detail during our conferences. (Please see below for conference dates). Please come prepared with an idea of what you would like to do for the Showcase. We will also be talking about Talent Show possibilities. For more info about what we discussed today, please see the October Newsletter attached below. You can also find a copy of the Committee Application if you are interested in that (Due Thursday 12th). Today was such a great day in DC! Thank you for being honest, real and open to trying new things, like "Mill Around the Room." I appreciate the respect that you all have for one another and hope to see this continue. Please be kind and respectful and I'll see ya'll Thursday! -Ms. Frost CONFERENCE DATES Thursday, October 12 Brynlee Emma C. Samantha A. Shay Alexa Emma T. Students,
In our discussion last Thursday, we talked about what we can do to make Drama Club a good experience for everyone. Some of the things we discussed included respect and confidentiality within the club as well as respect for all members. Some of you expressed the need for more "getting to know you" games that can bring us closer as a club as well as "getting to know you" conferences with myself. In an effort to get to know each of you, I will be sending out a conference sign-up times for us to briefly chat during club meetings. I'm posting a few questions to let you think about now before we meet later. 1. Your assessment of DC. a. Any suggestions? Concerns? b. How is DC going FOR YOU? c. What can Ms. Frost do to improve your experience in DC? 2. What do you do outside of school? a. Hobbies? b. Talents? c. Work/chores? d. Extra-curricular activities? e. Are you taking any lesson? Participating in sports? 3. What is your favorite musical? a. Do you have a dream role? 4. What would you like to do in the showcase? (We will talk about this more on Tuesday 10th). a. Scene? b. Monologue? c. Musical theatre piece? d. Other??? 5. What's a goal you have for High School? 6. Any questions for Ms. Frost? Remember, no DC on Thursday the 5th due to Parent/Teacher conferences. When we meet on Tuesday the 10th, you will have a chance to sign up for conferences. See you then! -Ms. Frost |
